How often do I need my chimney swept?

I'd recommend a sweep at least once a year, ideally before you start using your fire regularly in the winter.

If you use your fire as a main heat source (i.e. not just in evenings and at weekends), I'd recommend an additional sweep half-way through the cold season.

What can happen if I don't have my chimney swept regularly?

Soot can build up in your chimney, causing fumes to enter your home rather than going out of the chimney. This can cause health problems from breathing in the fumes, create the risk of your chimney catching fire, and cause smoke damage to your fire place. It also makes a terrible mess!

Do you offer a dicount for multiple fires/stoves?

Yes! Please contact me for a quote.

Will you make a mess?

I use sheets to cover anywhere where soot will land, and I clean up after myself before I leave!
